Messages and photos on We Love Dates go through automated screening and human moderation. Profiles and photos are reviewed. You can report and block from profiles and from messages. None of that is a guarantee about a stranger, and an optional identity check is a badge for the people who take it, not a fact about everyone else.
The statistics page keeps two UK sources apart. Banks counting romance-scam cases are not the same series as police reports of dating scams. Adding them would invent a third number. Read them only on that page, with the year attached.
If you are about to meet, use the checklist. If a profile feels invented, read the catfish note. If someone asks for money, read romance fraud and then the reporting page. This index does not repeat every step.
Questions
Where do I report or block someone?
From their profile, and from their messages, once you are signed in.
