How member checks work

You can join, browse and send messages without an identity check. If you choose the check and pass, the profile shows a verified badge. You can join and send messages before any identity check. The optional check adds a verified badge to the profile that passes. The membership page lists the price of an identity check in pounds.

Screening of messages and media is automated and also looked at by moderators. Profile photos are reviewed. Those are separate from the badge. A reviewed photo is not the same statement as a passed identity check, and neither statement means a person will be kind.

Report and block remain the tools for a conversation that should stop. The checklist is what you do in the world. The scam statistics are about the UK, not about how many badges we have issued.
