2. Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle
A short drive from Inverness is the famous Loch Ness. Visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle and look out over the loch. Perhaps you’ll even seen the legendary Loch Ness Monster. There are gorgeous views across the loch and beyond as well as plenty to learn about the ruins of the castle.
3. Victorian Market
The Victorian Market is a lovely undercover arcade and hall full of a range of shops. There are jewellers, clothing boutiques, food stalls and craft shops. There really is something for everyone here and the Victorian location is a stunning setting for a bit of shopping.
4. Craig Phadrig
This is the hill overlooking the city. It’s a great place to get amazing views of the surrounding countryside. At the very top there are the ruins of a Pictish Fort, which are fun to explore and the open nature of the forest means that there are views down the hill from most angles. You are your date could take in the views or you could go for a walk or bike ride around the forest.
5. Horse Riding
When you drive to Inverness it’s easy to see all the horses dotting the hills. You and your date should pop to one of the many stables just outside of the city and go on a nice long horse ride. 6. Plodda Falls
Plodda Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Scotland and you simply must take the time to pay it a visit. You won’t be disappointed. The Forestry Commission of Scotland have worked hard to enhance the experience of seeing the falls. You can find trail routes that will lead you to the heart of the waterfall, why not make a day of it, pack up a picnic and get walking!
