If you’re looking for something a little more arty then one of the towns many cultural and art centres should fit the bill; the Nerve Centre is best for live music at weekends while Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin is number one for traditional Irish performance, language, music and dance.
3. Art Gallery
The city is proud of its art galleries as well as its performance, and a trip to a gallery is a nice date for art lovers and those looking for something a little memorable. VOID is an artist-led not-for-profit gallery perched on the edge of the river, McGilloway is near the Tower museum and Gordon gallery, home to contemporary Irish art is near the Millennium Forum, a large theatre with a vibrant program.

4. Foyle Valley Cycle Route
Experiencing the great outdoors can be one of the best ideas for a date and whether you’re trying something new or already an avid fan of the bicycle, this route is a great experience. The route takes in the surrounding towns of Lifford and Strabane and travels through the countryside as well as car-free paths in the city.
5. Ness Country Park Picnic
If the great outdoors sets your heart racing then taking your date to the highest waterfall in northern Ireland should just about do. The waterfall is located in Ness Country Park (ness actually means waterfall in Irish), and as well as the gorgeous Burntollet River to stroll alongside, you and your date can expect to spot red squirrels whilst munching on a romantic picnic in one of the many wildflower meadows in the forest.
6. Guildhall
Guildhall remind you of anything? This iconic symbol of the city is based on non other than the Big Ben and is a great place to take your date. Admire the stunning stained glass windows and bask in the glorious Guildhall Square. You can go inside and view the exhibitions and what’s more there’s a cafe inside so a romantic bite to eat under the clock may be a great idea!
7. Walk the 17th Century Walls
The city walls is the foundation of the interesting city. Built over 400 years ago to keep the civilians safe from Irish rebels, these walls are packed with history and it makes a great date to walk along the walls, get to know your date whilst taking in the beautiful city, you’ll come across tons of restaurants, pubs and bars so why not stop off and refuel.
8. Da Vincis Bar
This is the place to be go if you want to get to know your date a little better. It doubles up as a hotel which could be a great idea for a future visit if all goes well! The bar has a lovely beer garden which is hugely popular in the warmer months, however the interesting and classic decor inside is just as gorgeous! The wine, spirit and cocktail list will most definitely keep you entertained for a few hours.
