Online Dating in County Fermanagh

Enniskillen CastleIn Northern Ireland, sandwiched between two Loughs lies Enniskillen, a watery town named after a strong female warrior of times gone by. In the summer boats bustle, pubs and bars are alive and the marble arch caves draw a crowd. If you’re looking for a date with strength and beauty at the helm, this is the place for you. Castle Coole

Castle CooleWhat could be a cooler (get it) idea for a date than a trip to a medieval castle? Surrounded by the River Erne which trickles down from Upper Lough Erne, the castle glistens brightly in the sun. Surrounded also by lots of lush green countryside, Castle Coole is the place to venture if you want to get out and about on your date and get a bit of fresh air in your lungs. Enniskillen Castle Day Date

Of course some castles are located conveniently in the centre of town, and as is the case for Enniskillen castle it makes for a picturesque date location, perched in front of the town’s central island on the river. There are two museums inside the 16th century walls and lots to be learned about this town’s torrid history. Image via cshiland on Flickr.

Romantic Canoe Rides

MV KestrelIf you’re thinking a bit more adventurously for your date then make use of the many watery pathways weaving their way through and around Enniskillen. You can hire canoes from Lakeland Canoe Centre near Castle Island in the centre of town or if you’d rather let someone else do the hard labour, hop on board the 56-seat waterbus the MV Kestrel. The MV Kestrel stops at Devenish Island along the way and takes just over an hour and a half to return – plenty of time to get to know your date better. If romance is what you’re after why not book a Saturday evening cruise which includes a three-course dinner at the Killyhevlin Hotel. Image via Paul J Rafferty on Flickr.

Devenish Island Adventure

If you do happen to take the boat trip, or even make your own way there, Devenish Island is an interesting old Monastic Site on which the ruins of different time periods still stand. It’s one of Loch Erne’s many islands and is well worth a meander around with a date.

Date In a Cave!

Marble Arch CavesThere surely can’t be a more unique location for a date than inside a limestone cave system? Tour guides take you and your date through this cave system by boat, with bright lights illuminating the many passageways tributaries and waterfalls that can be found underground. At points in the 75-minute tour you’ll walk along the passageways that aren’t waterlogged and duck between the glistening stalactites above you. Image via Ryan McMurray on Flickr.

Picnic at Loch Erne

Beautiful Lough Erne Co Fermanagh N Ireland PAGE 1 LOOK GROUP GOLD 8You can’t come to Enniskillen without visiting Loch Erne. Wakeboarding competitions are often held in the summer at the Lower Loch, which is deeper and eventually feeds into the Atlantic, and the Upper Loch is a network of miniature islands and inlets waiting to be discovered. Take a picnic in the summer, or wrap up warm in winter and prepare to be stunned by the views of this green and calm archipelago. Image via TT Faughan on Flickr.

Enniskillen Buttermarket

If the thought of some scrummy home-cooked produce takes your fancy (especially after all that great outdoors in Enniskillen) perhaps a visit to the Buttermarket craft centre is what the date doctor ordered. Traditional crafts are made at Buttermarket, but Rebecca’s café is also a star attraction.
Dates in Enniskillen lend themselves to getting outdoors and exploring all this town has to offer.
