A WeLoveDates Love Story!
By: Elizabeth Marie |
There are very few things I love more than a warm and fuzzy online dating success story, and I know I’m not alone. Here is Liz and Alex, telling the tale of how they met online.
This is the story of Bryce and Cherisse, a lovely couple who met right here on WeLoveDates!
Bryce and I met via online dating and at first I felt really weird about meeting people that way – as you never actually know who you are speaking to.
I had been a member of We Love Dates for about a week and had chatted to a few men which fizzled within days. I was feeling rather despondent about the whole online dating, but my friend who introduced me to the site told me to just keep at it and not give up.
That is when I came across Bryce’s profile and I thought, wow, he really seemed like a decent guy who would treat me well. His profile said he has two children, which is perfect as I have two children myself and I knew he would understand my obligations. So I decided to “make the first move” and sent him a message saying “Hi Bryce I really enjoyed reading your profile, would you like to chat sometime?”. He didn’t reply until the Monday, by which time I had almost forgotten. We exchanged a few routine messages about ourselves. What I really liked about Bryce is that he always seemed so interested in what I had to say. A few days of messages and he sent me his number to chat on Whatsapp. We had really intellectual and tasteful conversations and he always remembered everything that I told him-and still does. We were open about everything.
A week of Whatsapp messages and he asked if I would like to go for coffee on the Saturday with him. I was so nervous that he wouldn’t like me after meeting me and I was also worried that he wasn’t who he said he was – as it is so easy to be something you are not behind a screen.
I arrived at the shopping centre and went to the bathroom to give myself a pep talk . I was super nervous and when I got to the coffee shop he had a huge smile on his face and gave me a hug and kiss hello as if we had known each other for ages. I blushed for the first hour and couldn’t even look at him in the eyes. We chatted for 2 1/2 hours until he said he had made plans to go to a friend’s birthday braai. He asked if I would like to join him and at first I hesitated. He then told me his parents would be there so I felt comfortable to go.
At the braai he “showed me off” to his friends and family and I think I fitted in well. I got hugs and kisses from his mom when she left so I thought it had gone pretty well.
The Wednesday after that I invited him over for dinner where we shared our first kiss. The next day he asked if it would be okay with me if he introduced me as his girlfriend and that we make a plan to see each other on a regular basis.
That Friday he came to my house with pizza’s for us and my boys – he was so amazing with my kids, playing rugby with them and even reading them bedtime stories…that was it for me…I was hooked.
The following Tuesday he invited me to his place for dinner…which was delicious. It was my birthday that Thursday and he met my mom and very strange brother. I knew he liked me when he came over for coffee later that evening lol!!
That Saturday we had made plans to go out on the town to celebrate my birthday, but I got flu. He stayed at my house from the Saturday to Monday…he cooked my favourite comfort food and nursed me back to health.
I have never met such a considerate and attentive man before. He makes me feel beautiful and appreciated. We are very happy and it is all thanks to online dating that we met. I am very glad that I took the risk and joined the site. It is still early days but everything just feels as it should be and I am quite sure that we are both wanting this to be a long-term relationship.
Take risks and never give up on love!
Wishing you love and light in your search (please do follow the online dating tips as it can be dangerous).
Thanks so much for sharing your story, Cherisse! Best of luck to you and Bryce!
