4 Hot Date Ideas For When You Meet Face To Face!
When I’m online dating, I don’t like to do the whole first date meet and greet at my corner Starbucks. I dunno, I just think it’s boring, generic and awkward, and I feel like it’s a cattle call-BUT I know some people who love it because it’s quick, cheap, easy and you can make a hasty escape if necessary. I totally see both sides, but let’s say you have spoken to your date for a little while, began developing a connection and want to do something a little more FUN and memorable on your first date.

- Wine/Beer Tasting. This does not mean you set up shop at just any bar and drink yourselves silly, although no judgement here-sounds fun to me- but I’m talking about sharing an experience, of learning about something together, sharing opinions…and getting tipsy in the process.
- Hiking/Biking/Something outdoors. Weather permitting, this is a great first meeting option in my opinion. It doesn’t have to be anything strenuous or hardcore-I don’t want to get all sweaty on a first date either. And if I do, we better not be hiking. Just saying. What about miniature golf? Be silly and laugh. Get out of your element a bit and get your blood pumping, explore and share an experience. See a trend here…
- Dinner! This isn’t anything new, but I think dinner can be a great first meeting date! Pick a new restaurant that you have been wanting to try, or offers something fun like fondue or tapas (sharing food is an EXPERIENCE!) Also try to avoid super loud and crowded places-yelling over your appetizers isn’t cute, ohh and ladies, if he graciously offers to “take you anywhere”, don’t pick the most expensive restaurant in your city.
- I might be eating my words, but if you feel more comfortable with your first meeting being low key, put a little bit of thought into it! Instead of Starbucks, is there a cool cafe you’ve always wanted to try? What about grabbing take-out and eating it at the beach, or on a park bench? My point is-put a little extra effort into your first date, and it probably won’t be your last!

I prefer something outside because if I’m at dinner, it is more difficult to extricate yourself from a bad date. The beach or something outdoors makes is so much simpler.
