5 Winter Dates to Warm Your Heart
By: Josie |
Just because the sun isn’t shining anymore and the nights are drawing in, doesn’t mean that love can’t blossom! In fact, snuggling up on a winter date might just be even more romantic than the heat of the summer sun. Here are a few ideas for winter dates that will warm you up from the inside out.
Go ice-skating together
The quintessential winter date, there’s a reason that ice-skating is a failsafe hit for star-crossed lovers year after year. Forget about trying to be graceful and glamorous on the ice (it’s never going to happen) and concentrate on having fun! Whether you fall over or cling to each other for support, it’s sure to be a bonding experience like no other – and all that adrenaline will get both of your hearts’ pumping. Warm up with a candlelit dinner afterwards and chuckle over your mutual embarrassment.
Spend a day at the beach (yes really)
Although heading to the beach might not sound like the ideal winter date, it’s actually a pretty great one! Stock up on cosy jumpers, wrap up in soft blankets and fill your travel mugs with hot chocolate and you’ll be all set for a winter adventure. The beach itself is sure to be deserted, meaning that you’ll have the waves and the salty sea air all to yourselves. After all, a quiet and secluded beach is what we all dream of!
Take a cooking class
Throwing caution to the wind and learning something brand new together is a great way to form a bond – and what better to try out than a cooking class? The winter brings an assortment of holidays from Christmas to New Years, so you’ll have plenty of time to show off your cooking skills. And what’s more, if the date goes well, you could even end up throwing a dinner party together to introduce all of your friends to one another!
Head out on a winter walk
One of the best things about the winter is wrapping up warm and heading out into the chilly air for a romantic walk. When the colder weather hits and the crispy leaves litter the ground, there’s nothing more romantic than strolling hand in hand through a desolate park. Spend the day pretending to be tourists by grabbing a hot drink and some piping hot street food and you’ll soon see your city from a new perspective.
Warm up with coffee
This doesn’t have to be limited to coffee of course; any hot drink dates are perfect for wintertime! Plenty of coffee shops make for the perfect way to spend an afternoon – snuggle up on the squishy sofas and get to know each other over a steaming cup. Even better, most coffee shops will have Christmas inspired drinks to get you feeling really festive! What better place to sweet talk than over a sweet chai latte?
So there you have it, five great ways to spend time with your date this winter. Who needs the summer?
