couplecooking-sm

After much debate with yourself, a few bottles of beer and some anxiolytic, you’ve finally found the courage to ask out the lovely lady you’ve been checking out online. Good for you!

That’s a great first step! Now, for your next dilemma: Where to bring her on our first mature date?

Understandably, you want to create a solid impression on your lady via a first date. The first time is always the hardest and breaking into that with great success might land you a second, a third, a fourth, a fifth…….

Have no fear, because we got your back! We’re here to ease out the burden of your first date jitters! We’re going to save you some time thinking about the places you can take her or what to do on your first date.

Fill her up real good

This is a very cliché dating do but it never fails to impress! First of all, food is everyone’s best friend. Secondly, you can tell a lot about a woman by the way she eats. A woman who loses control and self-respect over the site of a big chunk of fat, juicy, rare wagyu steak is sexy! Table manners are good but overly prudish eaters (i.e. covers her mouth with table napkin while chewing each time, every time) is too imposing; anal if you please. Anthony Bourdain equates the latter to being a bad lover. The former exudes a lot of confidence and sexuality!

Get high on caffeine

No one else loves coffee more than seniors. Take advantage of that by enjoying a great cup of joe at a sidewalk café. If you suddenly run out of things to talk about, cut the awkward phase immediately by people watching with side comments! We all love that! Vent to each other how “kids these days” killed class or why iPhones are such a waste of money.

Go reel

Pack some blankets, a bottle of cabernet and some snacks and go watch an old movie at the park nearest you! You can both reminisce on the movie being played, it’s inexpensive and you can do a lot of cuddling. Romantic factor: 10!

Do a da Vinci

Okay, maybe a very subdued version of da Vinci. Go to an art class for a day! Aside from it being fun, painting increases brain power and has a sensual undertone attached.

Visit a museum

Impress your date about your vast knowledge of various artifacts. We both know that you just Googled most of that knowledge; but don’t worry, you’re secret’s safe with us.

Listen to old school beats

Look for a great place – good food, good crowd, and good ambiance – that plays your favorite songs of the past! Recall the old days and share the funny experiences you had when you were younger. Sing along with the tunes and go for the suave move by asking your date for a slow dance.

Stay in

The most romantic place that you can ever take your date to is your home; permitting that your home is, of course, presentable enough. If you want to truly get to know her and just focus on her and her alone, then go and invite her to your place. You can show her your kitchen prowess. It’s optional, but believe us, it is a big plus! But if you don’t have the skill, for the love of all things right, don’t try! Just order in.
