How To Prevent Dating From Wasting Your Time
By: Len Cruz |
“Time is more precious than gold, more precious than diamonds, more precious than oil or any valuable treasures. It is time that we do not have enough of; it is time that causes the war within our hearts, and so we must spend it wisely”; wise and useful words from Irish novelist, Cecelia Ahern.
Well, if that’s the case, what are you still doing with that schmuck?
Dating is fun and fascinating, yes, but don’t forget that it is a selection process. In other words, it is the survival of the finest. Dating is nice, but is shouldn’t be tough. We have so many things to do outside the dating arena and to waste your time on something that can be simplified is inutile. How to do it? Consider these:
Know thy self
You will never get the significant other of your dreams if you don’t know what you truly want and where you want your relationship to go. Are you looking for a quick hook up or a happily ever after? You don’t need to do a colorful mind map or a pros and cons T-chart for this one. Just answer your own question honestly and stick to that.
Maintain your bar’s level
Do not, again, do not lower your standards for anyone. If someone truly likes you, he will amp up his game to meet yours. If he doesn’t, blow him one last kiss. You will never be happy if you settle for someone just because you feel that you can’t get anyone better. There are currently more than 7 billion occupants (3/4 of which are in China) in this awesome planet of ours. There is that special someone who will be the perfect match for you. Believe it and own it!
Have faith in the universe
If you’re going through a dating rut, stop and let the universe do its thing….with your help, of course. Do you remember the law of attraction? Here’s a refresher: you will attract whatever your mind believes. Let’s inject a little more logic to that – be who you want to attract. If you want to attract a nice decent woman, then be a nice decent man. Don’t just keep thinking about being with that kind of lady hoping that the universe will work its magic on you. We live in this universe too and we have needs as well. The universe can only do so much. Don’t be selfish.
Never wait in vain
Bob Marley has been preaching it (posthumously) since 1977. There are two possible reasons why he hasn’t called 24 hours after your first date – either he doesn’t like you or he’s dead. Don’t trick yourself into thinking about the “he might” excuses. Fix yourself, move on and start the process all over again.
